Who am i

The Basics

Born in South America, raised in Europe and adulting in Canada. The world is my oyster.
I am a curious woman and passionate about many things in life. The ocean is my big love, followed closely playing sports, photograpphy and discovering places and cultures. But I would give up all of that for my nephews and niece.
Marine Biologist, roller-skater and designer, I have found a way in life to slowly bring together all the things in life that make me happy and grounded. I am very excited about my journey in the world of new media and looking forward to the experiences ahead of me.

How About Work

I have been very lucky. Life often has a way of putting me at the right place at the right time and surrounded by the right people.
After graduating as a Marine Biologist I participated in numerous research projects around the world by getting references from one project to the next. That led to participating on a Transoceanic Expedition with Oceana as scuba diver, photographer and biologist, which gave me the chance to work in four other projects with the organization in Europe and North America.
Eventually, I needed a break from moving around the world, and that's when I found a passion and a community in Kayak Polo.
I was given the opportunity to teach for the first time in my life, and I took it, and it has been a life changer. After  years of kayaking in Madrid, I moved to Canada to be and auntie.
For immigration reasons, I became a manager at a beautiful local cafe in Vancouver, and happened to like it and be good at it. That opened the doors to  get the offer to be Head Coach at Rolla, a new roller skating school/club starting up in the city. Both at Greenhorn and Rolla I started working from their foundation and helped grow the business and the community while I grew myself.

Life Experience

My passion for the ocean has taken me in amazing journeys. I studied Humpback whales around the world, crossed the Atlantic on a sailboat, tagged sea-turtles and did scuba diving in remote deep oceans. Only got distracted by team sports and competition. Played basketball since I was 9; competed internationally playing Kayak Polo in my late 20s and Roller Derby in my late 30s.

The ocean has taught me to prepare for the worst and expect the best, and has given me all. It also taught me how small we are but, if we are not careful, we can do immense harm.
With sports I learned to watch and listen; discipline; camaraderie; team work; to think fast and act faster; to win and lose, and be ok with both; to be humble and patient; and to help others learn what made me happy so maybe they could feel the same way.
But most important, everything I’ve done helped me create my community and to slowly grow and discover who I am.
